About the event
Lance Harrell, Director, Workforce Development and Community Outreach for the Master Builders’ Association of Western PA, will be presenting their latest initiative, BUILD with Respect. They have been collaborating with industry partners to gain insight about how we can improve jobsite culture, professionalism, and the overall construction experience across Western Pennsylvania.
Commercial and institutional construction projects bring together multiple trades, employers, and workers under demanding schedules and high safety expectations. How we treat one another on the jobsite directly impacts safety, productivity, morale, and the project's overall success. Disrespectful behavior—such as bullying, harassment, intimidation, or retaliation create distractions, break downs in communication, and increases the risk of incidents and delays.
BUILD with Respect is a commitment to reinforce professionalism, accountability, and teamwork across all member jobsites. These discussions continue to reinforce the value of collaboration between Construction Owners, Contractors, and Labor Unions.
